No One Likes Purple Windows – Franklin, TN

May 27, 2014

No one likes to have Purple windows, but many of the films on the market today contain dyes or pigments which historically are known to discolor, fade and even turn purple.  The best choice is always a film/tint that is 100% dye and pigment free.

There are many films on the market that contain dyes and pigments.  The most common ones sold in the Nashville and Mid-Tn area are 3M NightVision & Prestige, Llumar DR Series and Suntek Ultravision.  We prefer Huper Optik’s Patented Dual-layer Ceramic films. It is 100% Dye and Pigment free.  It will never discolor or turn purple and has tested beyond other conventional films for long-term degardation and durability.

Films that contain these components are usually more suseptible to faster degradation or breaking down of the materials that makeup the film or tint. Some start dramatically losing there performance immediately after the installation resulting in basically wasting your money.  You want your film to keep working for you at a high capacity for many years.

We recently had another installation where the windows had been previously been filmed with a Hybrid film(metal base with a dyed layer added to make look better).  the windows were in various degrees of deterioration and discoloration casued by the type of film and the owner wasn’t really getting any performance either.

To ensure that they would not have to be concerned with this happening again and get the heat and glare reduction that they had hoped to acheive with the old product, but never did, they chose Huper Optik’s Ceramic 30:  63% Solar Rejection and 62% Glare Reduction.
